In my research I focused on:
  • Cooperative wireless communications in ad hoc and sensor networks
  • MAC and cross-layer design for cooperative communication protocols
  • Reliable wireless communication for industrial automation
  • 4G networks with relays
I'm also generally interested in communication networks for smart cities, M2M communications, networked control systems, and network economics.

I held the exercise course Mobile and Wireless Communications in WS 2010, SS 2011, and WS 2012, and Network Communications Lab in WS 2013.


|| Short CV
I obtained my PhD from the University of Klagenfurt in December 2013 with Prof. Christian Bettstetter being my main advisor, and Prof. Michele Zorzi being the second examiner. The dissertation "Resource-Efficient Relay Selection in Cooperative Wireless Networks" covers analytical and experimental investigation of cooperative relaying protocols.

I have been with Mobile Systems Group since 2008. September through December 2011 I spent as a visiting scholar to Smart Antenna Research Laboratory of Prof. Mary Ann Weitnauer at Georgia Tech (Atlanta, GA).

I graduated with a Diploma degree in Computer Engineering (Technische Informatik) from RWTH Aachen University, Germany in 2007. During my studies there I had a half-year internship at Ericsson Eurolab in Aachen, Germany, were I was involved in the Ambient Networks project. My Diploma thesis I wrote during an interniship at Siemens Corporate Research in Princeton, NJ, USA, where I worked on Quality-of-Service in relay enhanced IEEE 802.16 (WiMax) networks.
